In each of my courses, I focus on the ways that popular films function in terms of narrative and image patterning at the level of the script. I teach film history, novel-to-screenplay adaptation studies, genre and special topics such as Canadian film and modern representations of friendship.

Each course stresses how popular cinema reveals the characteristics of modernity that bind many levels of globalized contemporary culture, often with ancient implications.
